Norwegian ethnographer and adventurer (1914-2002) best known for the Kon-Tiki expedition, during which he tested the theory of early contact between South America and Polynesia by successfully sailing a raft across the Pacific Ocean. Color glossy 5.75 x 4 deckle-edge postcard photo of the Kon-Tiki, postmarked April 10, 1986, signed vertically on the reverse in blue felt tip, "Best wishes from Thor Heyerdahl." In fine condition, with a smudge to the country in the address portion.
