Description

Belgian playwright, poet, and essayist (1862-1949) awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1911, whose great play Pelléas and Mélisande formed the basis for music composed by Debussy, Schoenberg, and Sibelius. Untranslated ALS in French, signed “Maeterlinck,” one page, 5.75 x 7.25, Abbey of Saint Wandrille letterhead, October 1, 1913. Double-matted and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 13 x 25. In fine condition, with scattered light creasing and a central horizontal fold.
