Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Pennsylvania (1739-1813) who served as the first president of the Philadelphia Bank. Full free frank, measuring 7 x 5.75 unfolded with a center panel of 4.25 x 2.75, addressed by Clymer to "Christian Febiger Esquire, State Treasurer of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia," and franked in the lower left, "Free, G. Clymer." The top bears an ink stamp, "New York, April 21, Free." An annotation in the left margin reads, in part: "It appears clearly by Mr. Clymer's Receipts that he has paid the Taxes."
