Document appointing a clerk, in full: "I do hereby certify that it hath satisfactorily appeared to me that Mr. Ashbel Strong has pursued Classical Studies, after he was of the Age of fourteen years, for the Term of four Years, And I do hereby order & direct that the Clerkship of the said Ashbel Strong shall be for the Term of Three Years."
