Vintage matte-finish 6 x 9.25 photo of Associate Justice Day in his judicial robe, displayed in its 7.75 x 11 Clinedinst Studio mat, signed and inscribed on the mat in fountain pen to Secretary of State Robert Lansing, "For Mr. Secretary Lansing, with high regard, William R. Day, Dec. 20, 1916.” In fine condition, with light silvering to the perimeter of the image and trimmed edges to the mat. From the Collection of Dr. Lawrence E. Miller.
