Description

The only resident peer in late colonial America who administered his vast Northern Neck Proprietary from his wilderness estate at Greenway Court, Virginia (1693-1781). Vellum manuscript DS, signed “Fairfax,” one page, 11.75 x 9.5, August 3, 1766. As proprietor of the northern neck of Virginia, Fairfax grants to William Jackson a "Lott of Land on Sleepy Creek." In very good to fine condition, with overall creasing, and some loss to the right edge.
