Description

TLS, one page, 7 x 8.5, 84 Prescott Street letterhead, July 22, 1946. Written from Cambridge, a letter to Miss R. L. Mixner, in part: "I have been moving about, in a whirl of relatives, old friends and new acquaintances, between Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts ever since. It is very kind of you to suggest sending cigarettes for me and for De la Mare: but as I am probably sailing on Sunday, it is now too late to accept. From one point of view, that is probably a good thing, as I have just been given unexpectedly some pairs of stockings to take over, and I don't know how much duty I shall have to pay on arrival, or whether I shall have the money to pay it." Matted to an overall size of 12 x 16. In fine condition, with light overall toning. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
