Description

Chicago-based business magnate, innovator, and investor (1859-1938) who greatly contributed to creating an integrated electrical infrastructure in the United States; Orson Welles's film Citizen Kane is, in part, inspired by the life of Insull. TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.75, The Seneca letterhead, April 20, 1935. Letter to Henry Y. Porter, in full: "I duly received your letter of April 14th, but there was some delay in the arrival of the photograph you sent me. Immediately upon its receipt I autographed it and returned it to you and hope it reached you already. I greatly appreciate your kind sentiments toward myself, and remain." In fine condition, with light show-through from (erasable) pencil notations on the reverse.
