Wonderful vintage matte-finish 9 x 7.25 photo of Disney offering a pen to a well-trained Skye Terrier, the star of the 1961 film Greyfriars Bobby, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, "To Jeff, Best wishes, Walt Disney.” Double-matted and framed to an overall size of 15 x 13.25. In fine condition. Robert Westerby's screenplay for Greyfriars Bobby was based upon a 1912 novel of the same name by Eleanor Atkinson, which, in turn, was inspired by an incident involving a Skye Terrier who became known in 19th-century Edinburgh for guarding the grave of his owner for 14 years.
