Vintage pearl-finish 3.5 x 5.5 full-length photo of Roger Bannister sprinting at the Empire Games in 1954, signed in blue fountain pen. In fine condition, with a light paperclip impression to the top edge. Accompanied by a transmittal letter from Bannister's father to the recipient, dated March 29, 1955, in part: "We have already had several letters from you and I have already sent you a photograph of my son. I cannot keep doing this but I am sending you another one—which will be the last—whether you receive it or not, as my patience is exhausted, and I do not see why we should be put to this expense. My son thanks you for your good wishes."
