Description

British statesman (1676-1745) considered the first prime minister of Great Britain who served during the reigns of George I and II. Manuscript DS as prime minister, signed “R. Walpole,” one page, 8.25 x 9.75, February 1729. An official treasury order for the payment of the sum of £89.14 to Lord Robert Walpole, for official services rendered as "Ranger and Keeper of his Ma'ts Park at Richmond." Signed in the right margin by Walpole. Matted with a typed caption to an overall size of 10 x 14. In very good to fine condition, with two areas of repaired paper loss to the right side.
