Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the consignor, noting that this was intended as a gift for President Richard Nixon: "I was a neighbor to Emil & Patricia Mosbacher Jr. After her husband's passing in 1997, I was given this signed photo of Haile Selasse. Patricia mentioned that it was given to Emil 'Bus.' Selassie, who was on his only visit to Richard M. Nixon in 1969. Emil 'Bus' Mosbacher Jr. was handed it as gift for the President. Mr. Mosbacher was Richard M. Nixon's chief or protocol from 1969-72."
