TLS as president, one page, 7 x 9, White House letterhead, July 3, 1925. Brief letter to John Hays Hammond, in full: "Your solicitude over my Father's illness is sincerely appreciated. I thank you for your thoughtful and sympathetic message." In very good to fine condition, with light toning, scattered light creasing, and a paperclip impression to the top edge. A friend of Presidents Grant, Hayes, Roosevelt, and Coolidge, Hammond was a mining engineer, diplomat, and philanthropist, who served as chairman of the US Coal Commission in 1922-1923.
