Irish political leader (1775-1847) best known for his tireless efforts on behalf of Catholic Emancipation and the repeal of the Act of Union which combined Ireland and Great Britain. Hand-addressed and free franked address panel, 5 x 3, addressed by O'Connell to "Miss H. Bowen, Ilfracombe, Devonshire," and franked in the lower left, "Daniel O'Connell." Also dated across the top by O'Connell, "London, February twenty nine, 1832," and canceled with a "Free" postmark. Suede-matted and framed with an engraved portrait (bearing a facsimile signature) to an overall size of 12.25 x 15.25. In fine condition.
