Description

Handwritten poem by Gwendolyn Brooks, penned in ballpoint on a blue 5 x 7 sheet. The poem, entitled "Robert, Who Is Often A Stranger to Himself," in full: "Do you ever look in the looking glass / And see a stranger there? / A child you know and do not know / Wearing what you wear?" Brooks signs at the conclusion and adds to the reverse: "from 'Bronzeville Boys and Girls.'" In fine condition.
