Description

Awesome fully signed photo of Nirvana during their lone Aussie tour

Glossy 8 x 10.5 photo of Nirvana posing in the Australian bush during a Rolling Stones photo shoot in early 1992, an image commanded by Kurt Cobain's tactful use of his ring finger, signed by the entire band in blue felt tip, "Kurt," "David," and "Krist." In very fine condition.

Rolling Stone chief photographer Mark Seliger flew to Australia to capture grunge rockers Nirvana on their first and only tour of the continent in January-February 1992. The band played a total of 11 packed shows at the very height of their success, ripping through hit songs like ‘Come as You Are’ and ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ from their mammoth second studio album, Nevermind. When the group arrived at Seliger’s suggested shoot location, a section of bush a short drive from Melbourne, Cobain refused to remove his sunglasses and opted to don a DIY t-shirt that read in black felt tip: 'Corporate Magazines Still Suck.' The resulting band photo was used for the iconic April 16, 1992 cover of Rolling Stone, with this signed image one of others he took that day. A terrific fully signed photo of Nirvana while rocking down under. Accompanied by full letters of authenticity from Beckett, JSA, and REAL.
