Vintage matte-finish 7.25 x 9.5 photo of von Stroheim as Field Marshall Erwin Rommel in Billy Wilder's 1943 film Five Graves to Cairo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To 'Peggy'—in sincere appreciation with all my kindest & most cordial wishes, Erich, Nov. 14th 1945." Double-matted and framed to an overall size of 13.5 x 15.5. In fine condition. Von Stroheim's portrayal of Rommel was widely admired by film critics.
