Lionel Barrymore's screen-worn coat from his role as Senator Jackson McCanles in King Vidor's 1946 epic Technicolor Western film Duel in the Sun. The dark reddish-brown velvet coat features three pouch pockets on the front, three brown buttons for closure, and tan velvet lapels. The interior is lined in charcoal satin, with a Western Costume Co. tag sewn inside the right breast pocket, annotated in ink: "No. 2, Name: L. Barrymore, Chest: 47." The lapels have been altered for a later production with the addition of the silk overlay. In fine condition. A desirable screen-worn wardrobe piece from the prolific Oscar-winning actor and member of the legendary theatrical Barrymore family.
