Professional wrestler (1891-1966) who claimed to have appeared in more than 6,200 matches and lost only 33. At the peak of his fame, in the golden age of sports in the 1920s, he was ranked with Babe Ruth, Bill Tilden, Bobby Jones, and Jack Dempsey. Vintage glossy 9 x 7.5 photo of Lewis proudly stomping on a faux head of Harold Lloyd in the ring, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to the famed comedic actor, "To Harold Lloyd, Sincerely, Ed 'Strangler' Lewis, April 4, 29.” Reverse bears a Wide World Photos credit stamp. In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges and scattered light creasing.
