Hayes, in full: "I've just received the American flag, the tape, and your good letter of October 29. It's nice to have the occasion recorded for posterity, and I'm having the flag flown over the Capitol right away. Please know how much your thoughtfulness is appreciated." In very good to fine condition, with creasing to the bottom panel, and semicircular stains to the top edge.
