Description

Postal cover addressed in another hand to a collector in Louisville, postmarked at Annapolis, Maryland on May 26, 1937, signed in the upper left corner in fountain pen as president, "Franklin D. Roosevelt." The five-cent postage stamp honors the US Naval Academy. Archivally encapsulated in Mylar, mounted, matted, and framed with a gilt-edged porcelain ‘Oval Office Collection’ portrait by Christian Bell Porcelain and nameplate to an overall size of 11.75 x 14.75. In fine condition, with light flap-related toning, and scratching to the top of the frame. As FDR was famed as a stamp collector, this is a particularly desirable philatelic piece.
