Description

ALS signed “Bette,” three pages, 5.75 x 7.75, postmarked June 21, 1957. Letter to Stanley Woodward, in part: "Has the world lost a marine artist and gained a thesbian? Will be delighted to read your script. Bobby's address is the best at the moment, as we don't know where we're going to be. Starting life all over again is a pain in the neck—am house hunting, job hunting, etc. Would have liked a breath of the Atlantic this past week. Such absolutely ghastly heat—the sound stages were unbearable." In very good to fine condition, with some creasing. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Davis's hand.
