Glossy 7.5 x 9.5 half-length photo of Poitier as Homer Smith in the 1963 film Lilies of the Field, signed in blue ballpoint, "Happiness always, Sidney Poitier." Collector's notations on reverse indicate that the signature was obtained on August 5, 1964. In fine condition, with some scattered small surface impressions at the top. For his memorable performance, Poitier won the 1963 Academy Award for Best Actor, making him the first African-American to win a Best Actor award and the second African-American to win an Oscar of any kind.
