Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in black ink (translated), "To my friend, par excellence, to Mme. Suzanne Perouse, Massenet, Paris 24 Dec. 1911." Housed in a handsome custom-made clamshell case. In fine condition, with some light wear to the ornate cover, and professional repairs to splitting along the front inner hinge. Perouse was president of the French Women's Union, a branch of the French Red Cross before 1940.
