Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 20 x 16, March 29, 1898. President McKinley appoints Theodore Hacker as "Postmaster at Red Cloud in the County of Webster State of Nebraska." Signed at the conclusion by McKinley, and countersigned by Postmaster General James A. Gary. Lower left retains the original gold seal and red ribbon. In very good condition, with toning, creasing, intersecting folds, and a missing upper right corner tip.
