African-American poet (1903-1946) who came to prominence during the Harlem Renaissance. Signed book: The Black Christ. Later printing. NY: Harper & Brothers, 1929. Hardcover, 5.25 x 7.75, 110 pages. Signed on the first free end page in fountain pen, "Cordially, Countee Cullen." Autographic condition: very good to fine, with light soiling and toning to the signed page. Book condition: VG/None, with edgewear, heavy wear to paper spine label, and some scuffing to boards.
