Chinese political and military leader (1897-1965) who was one of the main National Revolutionary Army commanders during the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Chinese Civil War. Handsome matte-finish 5.75 x 7.5 portrait affixed to its original 9.25 x 12 mount, signed on the mount in black ink in Chinese. In very good condition, with creasing and paper loss to the edges, not affecting the image of the signature itself. Accompanied by a 1958 transmittal letter from his assistant, as well as the address panel from the original mailing envelope.
