Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in fountain pen, "To Esther Muir, with best wishes, Edgar Rice Burroughs." Autographic condition: very good to fine, with a block of light toning, and stains to the top edge. Book condition: VG/None, with a slightly cocked spine, sunning and wear to spine, and minor rubbing to boards. Esther Muir was a character actress, usually cast as a hard-faced blonde. She co-starred in the Marx Brothers' riotous A Day at the Races, in which she suffered memorably at the hands of Groucho.
