Description

Author, explorer, and special correspondent for the New York Herald (1841-1904), most famous for his inquiry, 'Dr. Livingstone, I presume?,' upon finding David Livingstone, a fellow explorer who had become lost in the wilds of Africa. Vintage ink signature, "S. S. 'Oceania' of the P & O. Co., March 23'd 1892. Mar, S. Lat. 20°—Henry M. Stanley,” on an off-white 6.75 x 8.25 guest book page, which is also signed by his wife, the Welsh artist Dorothy Tennant, who signs with his surname. In fine condition.
