TLS signed “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 6.75 x 6.75, personal letterhead, February 14, 1916. Letter to Fredric W. Jenkins, in full: "I am sorry I can not come to you on Sunday, February 20th. I shall have four lectures and a number of addresses at Cornell during that week, and I must get home for Sunday morning. On Monday morning, February 21st, I have my lectures at Yale, and then an address in New York in the evening. This is crowding the mourners, and I have to keep down my engagements in order to go through those I have." In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges and a light block of toning from prior display.
