Long after the hard work and hurried pace of these past weeks are forgotten, I will remember the generous encouragement and goodwill which were extended to me and my entire family by so many good friends. It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of our great country, and I will never forget this wonderful privilege." Double-matted and framed with an engraved plate, the original mailing envelope, and a large image of Ford to an overall size of 15 x 29.25. In very good to fine condition, with light irregular toning, and some stains within the body of the letter. Dark horse candidate Jimmy Carter ousted Ford in his bid for reelection in the 1976 United States presidential election only twenty days earlier.
