Rare hardcover program for the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert held at the O2 Arena in London on December 10, 2007, forty-eight pages, 8.5 x 12, signed inside on their respective pages in silver ink by Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham. In fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient, in full: “In 2007 I paid a world record £83,000 for 2 tickets to Led Zeppelin’s Reunion Concert. The auction was part of BBC Radio 2’s Children in Need Appeal. As part of the package I also got to meet the band the day before the concert at their final rehearsal, where I was given the signed concert programme.” Also accompanied by a color image of the auction winner posing with Led Zeppelin, and a copy of the BBC-organized ‘Things Money Can’t Buy’ auction ‘Led Zeppelin Live’ lot from November 15, 2007, which details the full auction winner experience.
Organized to help raise money for the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, the eponymously named tribute concert set a Guinness World Record for ‘Highest Demand for Tickets for One Music Concert’ when Led Zeppelin was slated to perform as the headlining act. Tickets were made available via a lottery system online and an estimated one million people registered for fewer than 20,000 available tickets, each costing £125. Additionally, BBC Radio 2 ran their own auction as part of their annual Children in Need Appeal, with the top item offering a full Led Zeppelin experience, replete with hotel accommodations, band rehearsal admittance, and this signed souvenir program. Celebration Day, a concert film documenting the event, Led Zeppelin’s first full-length concert since the death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, was released in 2012.
