Description

Unusual baseball questionnaire by "James Emory Foxx," outlining his professional experience: "Athletics—1925 to 1936, Boston Red Sox 1936 until June 1942"

Significant questionnaire filled out and signed by Foxx, "James Emory Foxx," one page, 8.5 x 11.5, stamp-dated March 28, 1945. A questionnaire submitted to the American Baseball Bureau in Chicago, filled out entirely in Foxx's hand. He writes his nicknames, "Jimmie—Beast"; nationality, "English-Irish"; vitals including height, weight, and marital status; off-season occupation, "Salesman"; favorite sport, other than baseball, "Golf & Hunting-Fishing"; professional experience, "Easton Md—1924, Athletics—1925 to 1936, Boston Red Sox 1936 until June 1942, Chicago Cubs 1942 + 1944." For unusual experiences, he adds, "Took Baseball tour Japan-China, 1934." In fine condition. A decidedly unique autobiographical piece from one of baseball's all-time sluggers.
