Letter to Augustus Schell, in full: "I return herewith the papers you left with me in relation to the case of Genl. McKinstry. I have sent for some papers from Washn that will probably throw some light on the case but have not yet received them. I am ordered to Washn as a witness in a case now pending there & hope to get what I want when there. I should have seen you before but have been in almost daily expectation of going to Washn, in fact started once—on my return I will at once inform & appoint an hour for an interview. With the hope that you will understand my apparent neglect." Double-matted and framed to an overall size of 18.75 x 19. In fine condition.
