Free-franked address panel, 4.5 x 2.5, addressed in Fillmore's hand to "Hon. A. H. H. Stuart, Staunton, Virginia," and franked in the upper right, "Free, M. Fillmore." The panel is ink-stamped "Free" and postmarked at Buffalo, New York, January 16. Handsomely double-matted and framed with a plaque and portrait to an overall size of 21 x 17. In fine condition. The recipient, Alexander Hugh Holmes Stuart, served as secretary of the interior under Fillmore and Pierce.
