Unusual printed form letter, signed in fountain pen, one page, 5 x 6.5, personal letterhead, no date. In part: "I know that you will understand why I have not sent a personal reply to your kind letter. Letters have come in to me so much faster than they could be answered by a single secretary that it has been impossible to reply…I am taking the liberty of sending you this because I am unwilling that the many friends who have expressed their generous approval and support in the critical matter of the election of a United States Senator from New Jersey, should not know how deeply grateful I am for their generous support, and how proud I am that I should be so sustained and kept in heart." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing and soiling.
