Hudson & Berkshire Rail-Road Co. bond in the amount of $1000, issued under the provisions of an act by the New York legislature entitled "An Act to release the prior lien of the State on the Hudson and Berkshire Rail-Road, and to authorise the Stockholders thereof to relate the same with a heavy T rail." Signed at the conclusion by Fillmore as comptroller of New York, and also signed by "J. Van Rensselaer" as president of the company. The certificate retains 30 warrant coupons, which were redeemable over the course of twenty years. In fine condition, with expected cancellation holes touching the signature.
