Dennis master or commander of the Ship called Alice Mandell…lying at present in the port of New Bedford bound the for Pacific Ocean and laden with Provisions, stores and utensils for a whaling voyage.” Boldly signed in the fourth panel by Pierce and countersigned by Secretary of State William Marcy. The crisp presidential seal affixed to the center remains fully intact. In very good to fine condition, with old repairs on the reverse to some tears and fold splitting.
