My Grand Fathers were both natives of Connecticut—Rutherford Hayes of New Haven, and Roger Birchard Hayes of Mansfield, Windham County. My Grand mother Abigail Austin was a native of Suffield, Connecticut. My Grandmother Chloe Smith was a native of Hadley, Mass. The Hayes family were early settlers of Windsor, Ct. (now Simsbury) and the Birchards were the first settlers of Norwich, Ct." In fine condition.
