Description

Souvenir typescript entitled "The Air Base at the End of Nowhere," six pages, 8.5 x 11, signed at the bottom of the first page in blue ballpoint, "Paul W. Tibbets." An excerpt from a chapter in his autobiography The Tibbets Story, in part: "At the age of 29, I had been entrusted with the successful delivery of the most frightful weapon ever devised, one that had been developed at a cost of two billion dollars in a program that involved the nation's best scientific brains and the secret mobilization of its industrial capacity." In fine condition.
