Description

Russian actor and theatre director (1863-1938) whose techniques and methods have become incredibly influential in modern film and theatre. ALS in Cyrillic, signed “K. Stanislavsky,” one page both sides, 4.75 x 7.75, February 25, 1922. Letter to Soviet humorist Michail Michailovich, in part (translated): "The health…is not improving. Temperature getting up to 37.9…Morgulina wants very much to be sick with you at the same time…can be free at 4 o'clock. Can you too be available at this time." Stanislavsky continues the letter by extending greetings to his wife and leaves a phone number for future contact. In fine condition, with writing showing through from opposing sides. Only the second handwritten letter from Stanislavsky we have ever offered.
