Full free frank, measuring 12.75 x 8 with a center panel of 7 x 3.5, postmarked January 12 [1830], addressed in an unknown hand to "George M. Dallas, Esquire, Philadelphia," and franked in the upper right, "M. Van Buren." Reverse leaf bears ink docketing notations in the hand of Dallas, himself a future vice president, "Martin Van Buren, Sect. of State, rec'd 14 Jan. 1830, appointment of U. S. Bank Director, answ'd 15 Jan. 1830." In fine condition, with light overall soiling.
