In full: "The accompanying specimen of the star which has been prepared in accordance with Your Majesty's Command from the enclosed drawing for issue to those engaged in the later operations in Ashanti, is submitted, together with four different patterns of ribbon, for your Majesty's approval." Includes aforesaid specimen, a drawing for a proposed Ashanti medal, with a yellow-and-black ribbon pinned to top. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing and areas of light irregular toning.
