Description

Arthur Conan Doyle

Crisply penned ALS signed “A. Conan Doyle,” one page, 4.5 x 7, Tennison Road letterhead, June 2, 1893. Letter to "My dear Mariette," in full: "I should like to come, but am almost afraid to promise so far ahead for fear something should switch me off onto another track. Can it remain open until a few days before? I'll do my best to come, not merely because I should enjoy the game but because I should like to see you once more." In fine condition. This letter seems to concern an invitation to a sporting event, likely a cricket match; Doyle was an accomplished sportsman, excelling at cricket, golf, boxing, horseback riding, and skiing. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
