Spanish-born actor (1887–1967) who played opposite such luminaries as Greta Garbo and Clara Bow during the silent era and who later appeared in such classics as Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Searchers. Scarce vintage matte-finish 10.5 x 13.5 portrait of Moreno, signed and inscribed in Spanish to the photographer in black ink (translated), “Alive is my sympathy for the Senorita Ruth Harriet Louise, Respectfully, Antonio Moreno.” Reverse bears a MGM–Louise credit stamp. In very good condition, with moderate portions of soiling heaviest to lower right and absent upper left corner. Only the sixth Moreno-signed photo we have offered, and the first such example in a dozen years. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
