Brilliant official color glossy 10 x 8 NASA photo of the famous ‘Earthrise’ photo from the first manned mission to orbit the moon. Housed in its original Waldorf-Astoria display folder, measuring 22 x 8.5 open, presented at a New York State Dinner in honor of the Apollo 8 crew on January 10, 1969, signed on the inner gatefold opposite the photo in black felt tip by New York Mayor John Lindsay, Bill Anders, and James Lovell, and in blue ballpoint by Frank Borman. In fine condition, with light toning along the right edge. Consignor notes that the signatures were obtained by Michael Strunk, a Waldorf-Astoria employee who worked in the banquet department during the 1950s and 1960s.
