By crushing the Decembrist Uprising, he confirmed the autocracy of czarist rule, but disastrous losses in the Crimean War marked the collapse of his foreign and domestic policies. Circa 1825 ink signature in Cyrillic on an off-white 4.25 x 2.5 slip. In fine condition, with pencil notations on the reverse showing through. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
