Hand-addressed by Lord Nelson to his sister-in-law

Fantastic hand-addressed free frank panel, 4.75 x 3, addressed in Nelson’s hand to his sister-in-law, “Merton, October Twenty fifth, 1802, Honble. Mrs. Nelson, Hilborough, Brandon, Norfolk,” and franked in the lower left, “Nelson & Bronte.” Stamped with a ‘Free’ postmark. In fine condition, with trimmed edges and light show-through from writing on the reverse. Consignor notes that this originates from the collection of Trafalgar House, which was purchased for Nelson’s brother William after the admiral’s death at Trafalgar. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
