Description

Applauding Vince Lombardi’s “contribution to character and sportsmanship in America”

Signed book: The Memoirs of Richard Nixon. First edition, first printing. NY: Grosset & Dunlap, 1978. Hardcover with dust jacket, 6.75 x 9.5, 1120 pages. Signed and inscribed on the half-title page in black ink, “To Marie Lombardi, With deep appreciation for her friendship and lasting admiration for her husband’s contribution to character and sportsmanship in America. From, Richard Nixon, 5-12-78.” In fine condition, with a band of toning to the dust jacket. Nixon greatly admired Lombardi and, during his presidency, made a phone call to the legendary coach while he was on his deathbed. An interesting all-American association. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
