In full (translated): "Please charge according to the [financial] circumstances of the patient, however not gratis.” Double-matted and framed with a portrait of Freud. In fine condition, with scattered light creasing. The recipient, Paul Federn, became one of Freud’s earliest followers after reading his Interpretation of Dreams; he later served as Freud’s surrogate at conferences once the pioneering psychoanalyst was stricken with cancer in the 1920s.
